Hi there Reader,
โ
You're scrolling, and there's someone with a ring light and a six-figure following saying something about nutrition that's flatly wrong. And they're doing it with complete confidence. Meanwhile, you feel invisible.
It's crazy-making for some of us.
But they can't fake the clinical judgment that comes with years of education and patient care.
If you want reach, reach is learnable. But you don't need to become an influencer to become influential.โ
โ
Build a stellar reputation for your area of nutrition expertise, in your niche, in your part of the world, so that when people think about the problem you solve, they think about you simultaneously. Your reputation compounds when your expertise becomes associated with a specific problem.
If I had hung out a shingle and labeled myself a generalist, I would have had a much harder time getting referrals, and I would have received referrals for problems I wasn't nearly as comfortable with.
Instead, I built a diabetes-focused practice. Providers sent me diabetes patients almost exclusively. They called me to ask which pump I'd choose for their patients, or to ask about CGMs. In short, they associated my name with diabetes.
That's real influence. You can build that too, in your niche, in your part of the world.
To your success,
Julie
